About Us
What is FilmDis
The mission of FilmDis is simple. We’re a media monitoring organization advocating for authentic representation and inclusion of disabled people in front of and behind the lens. This advocacy is presented in numerous ways. Our work involves research studies, media projects, and education and consultation for creators, studios, and journalists. It is our goal to show the vast diversity of the disability community while advocating for diverse representation, and inclusion. We strive to offer solutions that improve not only the presentation of disabled characters in media, but that carry over into positive interactions for disabled people in the real world.
